Our All Electric Kitchen

About Sacramento's Zero Carbon Museum Cafe

Curiosity Café, Sacramento's all-electric cafe, is an innovative concept created through a collaboration between SMUD MOSAC and Eddy Boroumand of Fantastic Kitchen and Juice. The concept took one year to develop, and as soon as it opened, it became an instant success when it demonstrated that it can cook up a variety of healthy and delicious dishes in a small space while at the same time be a zero carbon restaurant in Sacramento. The key was using a state-of-the-art electric cooking equipment from Germany that could grill, bake, steam, and do more using 30% less energy than traditional gas cooking equipment.

Curiosity Cafe's mission is to educate our youth about sustainable cooking methods and reducing our carbon foot print while promoting foods that represents various cultures, flavors, and colors. We invite you to come and experience our service and delicious foods.

The Curiosity Cafe Story

Back in 2020 when Covid was spreading and causing havoc in the world, especially in the food industry, Eddy Boroumand had just started his new company promoting and selling all-electric cooking equipment from Germany under the name Fantastic Kitchen and Juice. As many restaurants were closing due to a lack of labor and rising food cost, Eddy had come across the perfect solution where new cooking technology could save many food establishments from going under. He started selling so many new units that SMUD noticed and introduced Eddy to MOSAC, where Sacramento's all-electric cafe was created. Ironically, the original food vendor chosen for MOSAC had canceled their agreement due to Covid and this opened the door for the perfect match. SMUD represents our clean electric energy supplier, MOSAC represents the ideal space to inspire our youth about science and the role of technology, and Curiosity Cafe represents future zero carbon, all-electric smart kitchens. We hope to see you at MOSAC and be sure to stop by the cafe, and get a taste of the future. We look forward to serving you!
